About me
Hi my names Ellie

Hi, my name’s Ellie! I’m an illustrator and small business owner from South Wales, passionate about creating fun, vibrant characters and everyday scenes in my own decorative style. I’m at the early stages of my illustration career, and I’m always open to new opportunities and experiences that help me grow creatively. I am particularly interested in working within the giftware and licensing industry, as well as children's picture books.
I usually start my creative process with hand-drawn sketches, I find it brings so much life and energy to my work. It also helps make my line art feel more dynamic and expressive, which lets me communicate ideas more freely.
I’ve launched my small business, Ellie Ball Illustration, where I sell my artwork and illustrated products at artisan markets, conventions, and pop-up events. I really enjoy being in these face-to-face environments, getting to meet customers and chat with other traders.
art markets and conventions
I also enjoy selling my work at in person events such as: artisan markets, conventions and pop ups. At these events I make and sell products with my illustration on such as: t-shirts, sweatshirts, stickers, mugs etc. One of my favourite things about doing in person events is meeting my customers in real life.
Achievements
Here are some things I have achieved as an illustrator:
- I was short listed for the 2021 Blundstone annual art competition
- I was one of thirty winners for the 2022 International Holocaust Memorial Day portrait competition
- Was selected to exhibit at New Designers in 2025
My work and experience
Graduated Trinity Saint Davids, Swansea College of Art in Illustration with a first.I have experienced first hand sales environments trading at various comic conventions and artisan markets.I have done public speaking roles, working closely with the creative network design Swansea.
